Sub-Goals are as important as Goals themselves
Hey My Gee.
if I am to give a proper review of this week as a Nigerian, I will say it is a shitty week. We started the week with a serious mindset due to the EndBadGovernance Protest, then BBNaija started and all our seriousness cooled off. As if that’s not enough, how on earth will a group of people protest against another protest. Now we are left with two protest gorups in the country, The Anti-Protest Group Vs The EndBadGovernance Group. OMO this Country Ehnn 🤣

#EndBadGovernance Protest
Nigeria, a country plagued by corruption, economic hardship, and poor governance, has witnessed a surge in protests in the past two days. The EndBadGovernance Protest, a nationwide demonstration, has brought together Nigerians from all walks of life to demand change.
The protest was sparked by the rising cost of living, unemployment, and the perceived failure of the government to address the country's pressing issues.
In the last two days, a lot has happened across the states in Nigeria. below are major highlights from the protest.
Protesters Demand Change: Nigerians are protesting against rising inflation, unemployment and hunger, with food inflation exceeding 40% and interest rates over 26%.
Security Forces Crackdown: Security forces have been deployed to protest locations, with reports of teargas being fired and protesters being beaten back.
Government Accused of Disrupting Protests: Protest organizers have accused pro-government supporters and state security agents of disrupting the Anti-government protests.
Looting and Violence Reported: Looting and violence have been reported in some parts of the country, with the Digital Innovation Park in Kano being set ablaze and looted.
Government Urged to Protect Rights: Amnesty International has called on the government to protect the rights of protesters and prioritize addressing widespread hunger, higher unemployment and the rapidly falling standard of living.
Protest Turned Violent: The #EndBadGovernance protest turned violent in states such as Kano, Gombe, Yobe, Abuja, and Niger, with reports of looting, burning, and clashes with security forces.
Casualties Reported: At least nine people were killed by security forces, with more reported injured.
Protesters Defy Restrictions: Protesters defied court orders and security restrictions, with many rallying at undesignated locations.
Government Response: President Bola Tinubu met with the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for a situation report, while Wike urged protesters to embrace dialogue.
Curfews Imposed: Curfews were imposed in four northern states to contain the situation.
The EndBadGovernance Protest is a testament to Nigerians' desire for change. While challenges lie ahead, the protest was intended to be of peaceful nature, but as things always turn out to be in Nigeria, it became violent along the way. Deep down the whole Turmoil, the unity in voice still remain the same. As Nigerians continue to demand good governance, one thing is clear – the status quo cannot continue.
